Honda HRC PETRONAS Triumphs in MXGP 2026

The 2026 MXGP season ended with total dominance by Honda HRC PETRONAS, a team that quite literally crushed its competitors.
The foundation of this success was the partnership with PETRONAS and the use of PETRONAS Sprinta engine oils. In the extreme conditions of motocross, these advanced oils reliably protected the engines from overheating and wear. Honda machinery completed the season without a single failure, allowing the riders to safely extract the absolute maximum from their motorcycles.
Team records:
Total control: 14 wins in 19 Grands Prix (74%).
Constructors’ Championship: Undisputed 1st place with a 170-point lead.
Dominance: Three riders scored a combined total of 2,137 points — an incredible 894 points more than their closest competitors.
Heroes of the season (1st, 4th and 7th places in the championship):
Jeffrey Herlings secured his 6th world championship title ahead of schedule. By winning 13 rounds, he set a new all-time record for the series — he now has 125 Grand Prix victories to his name!
Tom Vialle was the best starter of the season with 12 holeshots, won the round in Switzerland and claimed 9 podium finishes.
Rubén Fernández delivered an important podium for the team in Germany and a victory in the British qualifying race.
The 2026 season is a historic triumph of the perfect union between racing talent, Honda engineering and PETRONAS innovation!
